YourFlashCards (yourflashcards.app) is a personal project by Anton Kulikov for learning vocabulary. Its source code is public on GitHub, so you can check everything this page says.

What is collected

How it is used

To run the app: sign you in, keep your words and progress, and sync them across your devices. The usage statistics show which features are used, so the app can be improved. There are no ads, nothing is sold, and your data is not used to profile you.

Who processes it

The app runs on Google's Firebase. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication; your words and progress are stored in Cloud Firestore in the European Union; the app is served by Firebase Hosting; usage statistics go to Google Analytics. Fonts and parts of the app are loaded from Google's servers, which see your IP address like any website you visit. See Google's privacy policy and Firebase's privacy information.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_E0J0MDFKE6, to tell visits apart. Signing in keeps you signed in using your browser's storage. You can block analytics with your browser's privacy settings or Google's opt-out add-on; the app works the same without it.

How long it is kept

Your account, words and progress are kept until you delete them. Deleting a word or a collection in the app removes it from the database straight away. Google Analytics keeps usage statistics for the period set in the analytics property (two months by default).

Your choices

If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the rights the GDPR gives you, including access, correction, deletion and objection, and you can complain to your data protection authority.

Children

YourFlashCards is not directed at children under 13.
